Urban Nature

- Brighton, London, ENGLAND, 2016

This work explores the tension between natural and human worlds in urban areas. Drivers including health, safety and aesthetics, have lead people to incorporate trees and plants into urban spaces. Such artificial configurations serve to dominate nature, if natural objects do not fit the intention, they will be eliminated. Clearly, on the other hand, they are never completely controlled by containing wildness. Therefore, people sometimes attempt to obtain the substitution of nature with artificial objects imitating nature. I am interested in exploring dominated nature and un-dominated nature to reflect on the relationship between nature and people in urban areas.
